What's in a bun?

Good Question!

I just read the nutrition label from a package of store bought hamburger buns.. there were 32 ingredients listed!!

Ammonium Chloride, Ammonia Sulfates, Calcium Carbonate... sounds yummy!?

These "ingredients" can also be found in fertilizer, shampoo, and alkaline batteries.

My alternative? Making rolls/buns as needed. It may take a few minutes, but you'll keep all the artificial junk out of your body.

Pretzel Rolls (using a bread machine)

All ingredients should be at room temperature
2 cups bread flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
7/8 cup water

-Measure all ingredients into bread pan.
-Press the dough setting and let the bread machine do all the work
-Preheat the oven to 450
-Divide dough in to 6 pieces
-Shape in the buns and place on greased cookie sheet (kudos to you if you can get the pretzel shape to work- I can't get it right!)
-Bake 12-15 minutes

Bread machines seem to always pop up at consignment shops and garage sales dirt cheap. I personally bought the model below. It was one of the more affordable options and it gets the job done.
